Chris started working on the shop floor in coffin production back in 2008 as a sprayer/finisher for Terry Smith Limited where he also learnt the core skills and processes for coffin manufacturing.
He then worked in all the production roles gaining invaluable experience, especially CNC programming. Added to this he attended a whole host of external training courses that have provided him with a huge skillset in all aspects of manufacturing.
NEBOSH, Noise Assessment, Fire Management, and Environmental Management, whilst all the time focussing on process and technical improvements and adaption through Lean Sigma Methodologies and Practices resulting in a new factory layout.
Chris was promoted to Production Manager in 2016 receiving and implementing his ongoing training and expertise, whilst all the time meeting production targets, managing stock levels and safeguarding purchasing requirements.
In 2021, he was promoted to Factory Manager performing all aspects of site management, profit and loss, order processing, production, procurement, and staffing before coming on board as General Manager for L T & R Vowles in 2023, following the retirement of Richard Mattey.
