David’s career is literally steeped in relevant experience, in fact 39 years of experience, for the role he fulfils today at DFS Caskets.
His career began as a production operative manufacturing office furniture and over a period of 15 years he worked his way up to the position of Manufacturing Manager with 140 staff reporting to him. Looking for new challenges, over the next 10 years, he switched sectors, firstly into ‘Kitchens’ then into ‘Door Manufacturing’ and finally ‘Shop Fitting’ where he started as a Shift Manager and worked his way up to Timber Manufacturing Manager.
In 2010, David joined Terry Smith Limited as their Coffin Factory Manager reporting directly to the Head of Funerals for the Central England Co-op Funeralcare. David was responsible for all aspects of managing the site, the factory, production, in fact everything to the last detail. From this position, he was fully equipped to take on his next role.
In 2021, David joined DFS Caskets and has been able to implement his wealth of experience in all aspects of running the business day to day as well as achieving all sorts of challenges as the business adapts, develops, and grows.
