Tam initially trained in electronics which has certainly had it’s uses throughout his career, which has predominantly been in a production environment, working with machinery, and manufacturing.
A brief departure from this was time spent as a dispatch driver, loading trucks, and seeing to the picking, handling, and packing of products ensuring deliveries arrived on time and in perfect condition.
Most of Tam’s earlier career has been in the Kitchen and Bathroom sector where he spent 20 years focussing on fit and finish. He started on the first rung of the ladder as a machine operator and worked his way around the entire factory with successive promotions and finally being made up to the Operations Manager.
With this wealth of experience Tam joined Brian Reid and Son as the Production Manager back in 2016 and was well placed to assist Lindsay Reid, the then General Manager, run the factory, looking after customers and customer orders.
In 2023, Lindsay moved to new pastures, leaving Tam to take the reins as General Manager. Of all the aspects of running the business, Tam’s biggest reward is producing a top quality product which he and his team can be proud of.
